Agriculture Center
The Center for Agricultural Studies is the University’s top priority new construction project. The facility will be an exciting and welcome addition to the Southern Arkansas University campus. Through this agricultural center, SAU will be able to better prepare students for careers in agricultural sciences, animal sciences, plant sciences, agricultural business, and agricultural education utilizing the latest advancements in technology. It will also consolidate all agricultural teaching disciplines into one facility.
Through the increased laboratory facilities and equipment, SAU students will have enhanced individual research opportunities. The University will also be able to expand post-baccalaureate programs and in turn, will enhance recruitment for the University. The preliminary floor plans for the Center for Agricultural Studies are shown on the following pages.
The University has begun work to make this building become reality. The Arkansas General Assembly appropriated $1 million during its 2009 session toward the construction of the Center.
