Band Building

The new Southern Arkansas University Band Hall was completed in the fall of 2007. The band program previously resided in the Brinson Fine Arts Building. The band hall houses the SAU Mulerider marching band, symphonic wind ensemble, concert band, jazz band, athletic pep bands, and various chamber ensembles.
There are currently 118 students in band, and the new 12,600-square-foot facility will accommodate 150 students. Features of the new band hall include a secondary rehearsal hall that is larger than the band’s former primary rehearsal hall and a primary rehearsal hall that is twice the size of the former primary rehearsal hall. Construction was approximately $2.1 million.
