Mulerider Stables
The Mulerider Stables facility opened on the SAU campus in December 2005. The 14,400-square-foot, 60-stall facility, which features men’s and women’s restrooms, tack areas, concrete paved alleys and walkways, and a covered porch, cost approximately $425,000 to build and was totally funded through private contributions to the SAU Foundation.
Southern Arkansas University has a fine scholarship program for the rodeo team, which features student athletes from across the country. These students often bring their horses to be housed at SAU throughout the school year, and the Mulerider Stables provide the proper facilities for these expensive animals. The stables are also the home of the University’s famous mule, Molly B.
