Dr. Robert A. Terry, former professor of English, worked diligently to create opportunities that would ensure student success. In the early 1990’s, Dr. Terry founded the SAU Supplemental Instructor (SI) program, which is a series of weekly review sessions taught by qualified students who have previously excelled in the course. In 2012, the Supplemental Instructor Scholarship was created in memory of Dr. Terry.
The deserving recipient of the Supplemental Instructor Scholarship for the fall 2018 semester is Nicole Noga. Nicole is a senior Animal Science major. She served as the Supplemental Instructor for Dr. Pierre Boumtje for Agricultural Economics in the spring of 2018 and is currently the SI for Farm Management. Dr. Pierre Boumtje stated, “Nicole is a very brilliant student, hardworking, highly devoted, and 100% committed to excellence. She has an amazing natural ability to explain difficult concepts and tools, and students just love her.”
