University Enrichment Endowments

University enrichment endowments serve to assist the students, faculty, and staff of the University.

Adcox Family: Funds provided by the family of former SAU Athletic Director, Jay Adcox, to benefit the Mulerider Activity Center.

Alumni Association: Funds provided by alumni and friends to supplement other SAU Honor Professor funds.

Floy Childs: Funds provided by alumni and friends in memory of Mrs. Childs for non-scholarship financial aid to a working student of good character and financial need.

Dr. W. Ves and Holly Hartrick Childs: Funds provided by Dr. and Mrs. W. Ves Childs for non-scholarship financial aid.

Frankie and Dawn Duckett: Funds provided for greatest need by Mr. and Mrs. Frankie Duckett.

Harold H. Fincher and Gerald F. Scott ENACTUS (formerly SIFE) Endowment for Student Travel: Funds provided by Peoples Bank to provide funds for students to travel to ENACTUS competitions and conferences.

Cinda A. Hallman: Funds provided by Ms. Hallman for non-scholarship student financial aid.

Mary Mahoney Johnson: Funds provided by Mr. Calvin Wetzig, alumni, and friends in honor of Mrs. Johnson for student health.

Charlotte Maxine Jordan Miller College of Liberal and Performing Arts Student Travel Endowment: Funds provided by Sharon Eichenberger for students in the College of Liberal and Performing Arts to attend and participate in University approved off-campus enrichment activities.

Mulerider Book Fund: Funds provided by alumni and friends to help purchase books for a student in need.

William C. Nolan: Funds provided by his friends and students to be used for a student legislative internship in Washington D.C.

Dr. John and Mildred Ruff: Funds provided for greatest need by Mr. and Mrs. John Rhea, Jr., in memory of Dr. John Ruff and in honor of Mrs. Mildred Ruff.

David Sixbey: Funds provided by Mr. David Sixbey to enhance language studies and cross-cultural understandings with Russia.

Auburn P. Smith: Funds provided by alumni and friends in memory of Mr. Smith for the faculty award for excellence in service.

Jim and Martha Brunson Smith: Funds provided by Mrs. Jim Smith for campus beautification.

Dr. Robert B. Walz: Funds provided by Mrs. Robert Walz in memory of her husband for the faculty award for excellence in teaching.

Warnock Student Travel Endowment: Funds provided by Mary Warnock Harsh to benefit students attending meetings, conferences, performances, and other education travel related to education activities sponsored or approved by the university.

Calvin U. Wetzig: Funds provided by alumni and friends in honor of Mr. Calvin U. Wetzig for the faculty award for excellence in teaching.

Gayle Webb White: Funds provided by Dr. Gayle White for travel for students in the College of Business.

Mary Anna King Whitehead: Funds provided by Governors of the SAU Foundation, Inc. in memory of Mrs. Whitehead for SAU staff excellence awards. Two awarded annually.

Mark and Suzanne Wiley/Edward Jones and Company: Funds provided for student emergency help by Mr. and Mrs. Mark Wiley.

E.M. Wooley: Funds provided by Mrs. Kathryn Wooley Coffey in memory of her father to help students who are not on a regular scholarship fund, but need assistance.

Reuben Wooley: Funds provided by Mrs. Kathryn Wooley Coffey in memory of her brother for non-scholarship student aid.

Mission Statement

The mission of Southern Arkansas University Foundation is to assist and coordinate in raising and managing funds and resources on behalf of Southern Arkansas University to be used exclusively in furthering the literary, scientific, and educational purposes of the university.
