Anonymous Scholarship

  • Full-time student active in the Association of Baptist Students or the Baptist Collegiate Ministry (BCM) or the Missionary Baptist Student Fellowship
  • Students of all class levels are eligible
  • Awarded by SAU Foundation Scholarship Committee
  • Awarded per academic year

William M. “Buddy” Atkinson, Jr. Memorial Scholarship

  • Incoming freshman to Southern Arkansas University
  • Majoring in Agriculture
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA
  • Minimum ACT Score of 19
  • Applicants must complete the scholarship application at this link: Buddy Atkinson Memorial Scholarship Application and submit a cover letter stating how this scholarship will be beneficial and a document that lists school/community activities, awards, honors, etc.
  • The application deadline is June 1
  • Two letters of recommendation – one must be from a school official
  • Transcript with test scores

Jill Attebery Nursing Scholarship

  • Majoring in Nursing
  • Minimum of one semester completed in the Nursing Program
  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Awarded by SAU Department of Nursing
  • Awarded per academic year

Farm Bureau Agri-Business Scholarship

  • Full-time student majoring in Business or Agri-Business
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA
  • Arkansas resident
  • Students of all class levels are eligible
  • Awarded by SAU Foundation Scholarship Committee
  • Awarded per academic year; student must apply each year.

Arkansas Seed Dealers Association

  • Sophomore, Junior, or Senior student
  • Agriculture-related field of study
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA
  • Arkansas resident
  • Financial need

Arkansas State Plant Board Scholarship

  • Majoring in an Agriculture field
  • Students of all class levels are eligible
  • Awarded by SAU Foundation Scholarship Committee
  • Awarded per academic year

CAE Annual Scholarship

  • SAU Sophomore, Junior, or Senior
  • Minimum GPA of 3.5
  • Majoring in: Computer Science, Data Management, Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, Communication Design or Game Design
  • Preference for students who graduate from an Arkansas high school
  • US Citizen

Dustin Bettis Memorial Scholarship

  • Incoming Freshmen
  • Graduate of Magnolia High School
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5
  • Letter of recommendation from a pastor, youth leader, or sponsor of a school activity

Campbell & Company Scholarship

  • Incoming Freshmen
  • Minimum GPA of 3.25
  • Graduate of a high school located in Columbia County
  • Demonstrate leadership experience and community service
  • Major in a degree plan with the Rankin College of Business

Department of Modern Languages Scholarships

  • Incoming Freshmen
  • Minimum GPA of 3.00
  • Possess a genuine interest in the Modern Languages program
  • Selected by the Modern Languages Recruitment and Retention Committee
  • Major/minor in a degree plan with the Department of Modern Languages

Farm Credit of Western Arkansas Scholarship

  • Full-time undergraduate student majoring in Agriculture
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA
  • Involvement in at least one organization within the SAU Department of Agriculture
  • A resident of one of the Arkansas counties listed below:

  • Majoring in math or education

  • Preference to be given to minority students
  • Awarded by SAU Foundation Scholarship Committee
  • $2,000 available for 2021-22, $1,000 per semester

Carley Hale Scholarship

  • Student-Athlete
  • Sophomore, Junior, or Senior
  • Students with a 504 Plan
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Letter of recommendation from the student’s coach
  • Involvement in campus organizations and/or leadership roles
  • Awarded by SAU Foundation Scholarship Committee
  • $500 per semester (2022-23)

  • Incoming Freshmen
  • Recipients may maintain the scholarship for four years with a minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Two scholarship awards of $17,000 annually
  • ACT 26/SAT 1230 or greater
  • Preference is to be given to students from 1) Arkansas, 2) surrounding states, and 3) U.S. citizens
  • Letter of recommendation from a school official
  • Awarded by SAU Foundation Scholarship Committee

  • Resident of Columbia County

  • Graduating Senior of Nashville High School

  • Available to cross county student-athletes, preferably distance runners
  • Awarded by coaching staff

US Poultry Scholarship

  • Majoring in a career field with interest in the poultry industry

Dan Vela Engineering Scholarship

  • Majoring in Engineering
  • Awarded by SAU Engineering faculty

Windgate Studio Art Scholarship

  • Majoring in Studio Art
  • Awarded by the SAU Art Department Faculty
  • Renewable based on continually meeting the following criteria:
    • Continue as a studio art major
    • Complete 12 or more semester hours on the SAU campus each semester
    • Measures of productivity and quality of work executed within the art classes, as well as, five hours of service per week for the art department
      • Service hours may include teaching assistant, lab tech, research assistant, and/or gallery assistant. Departmental internship experiences are designed to strengthen the students’ skills for applying for graduate programs or for the workforce.
    • Minimum of 2.5 GPA
    • Club participation & leadership skills
    • Must submit Art Portfolio

The mission of Southern Arkansas University Foundation is to assist and coordinate in raising and managing funds and resources on behalf of Southern Arkansas University to be used exclusively in furthering the literary, scientific, and educational purposes of the university.
